Beyond the Moving Picture

Movies are intriguing moments of life that have the ability to captivate our aspirations and take us beyond our limits and suppressed inhibitions. They inspire us to acknowledge the many impacts of life through a selected series of events. Visually emphasized through a certain expressive observer, we may call the camera, these moments in time illustrate and even persuade us toward the message entwined within the ever progressing story.

Through this active display of camera angles and beyond-the-screen effects, our emotions and attitudes are reminded us. The cinematic artistry gives us the opportunity to react and respond to the world, all the while making an impact into our outlook on life and the many intricacies between the particulars and the big picture.

Since movies began, the focus has never changed. Whether in an attempt to make us laugh, make us think, or make us weep, movies are able to seize our hopes and dreams and deliver these complex ambitions into a few hours of our ever adapting life.
In this blog, the many components of film will be explored and examined for their ability to capture our hearts and push us beyond our many limits. It will, like the observant camera, bring the attributes and insights within the moving celluloid to life. It will take the movements of this intricate device, identify the patterns these individual frames create, and find meaning behind what is seen so that the mindful observer, we may call the viewer, may recognize what is not seen.
